I love making things, and I have gone through phases such as soft to making, paper craft, jewelries, etc. I just can’t seem to relax! I am also very small, so its hard to find clothing that fits me. So sewing is a practical hobby that is fun, and it helps me relax after work.I love shopping for fabrics, sewing them up, making cute details, and wearing them! If I have to pick something I don’t like, maybe it is the cutting of patterns and fabrics. I wish I had a cutting monkey!

Gaspard Yurkievich is already scandalous. The Paris native and ex-publicist is hip to the rigamarole of fashion week, so he games it: One notorious Gaspard show had male models simulating sex acts (fully clothed), another showed the men’s line on beat boxers who popped and locked down the runway. This is tolerable because 1) Yurkievich seems to be enjoying himself, and 2) given all the noise around his shows, Gaspard’s clothes are shockingly serious. (Well, at least the clothes for women.)
My fabric is too expensive to cut into without checking the fit of the pattern first. So this week I’ll be making up a muslin, I have cut out the pattern in a size larger than I normally would and once I have it sewn together I will make markings directly onto it for alterations I may need to make. There will be more details in my next post about how to do this with tips and links that may be useful.
This week I started to sew my Vintage Flore Dress, I started with the bodice and then next week I’ll tackled that huge gathered skirt! Check out my steps in sewing the bodice to my mash up dress.Last week I just focussed on the pattern modifications, which you can see here. I had to cut a lining to back the fabric since it was sheer.
