My favourite thing about sewing… sewing encompasses so much of what I love, its difficult to pick out one thing! I’m a fabricaholic (is anyone immune?), but I also nerd right out on the technical aspects- I LOVE patternmaking, and that was my best subject at school. I love reading about couture techniques and cool little hacks that make my sewing life easier. I’m also into collecting vintage sewing machines and notions, and trying to figure out how all the mechanical gizmos work is a lot of fun. As for what I hate… um, I’m not crazy about grading patterns once I’ve drafted them, and hemming is a drag. But that’s it!5. If you could make something for anyone, who would it be and what would you make?

I love to see how a project goes to the end, see it finished. Wearing it and getting compliments for it ( Who wouldn’t like that ;P). What I really don?t like is to copy patterns and cut the fabric pieces out. For me it?s very annoying. Also when something doesn?t work in the way I want it to work.

I also decided to cut my binding strips out of the jersey fabric, so I cut a long piece 1" wide with the direction of greatest stretch going lengthwise.

Famous in his day for penning biting celebrity “best-dressed” and “worst-dressed” lists, he was sued by Judy Garland for defamation of character when he marked her among the “worst-dressed” for “[dressing] like a tired clubwoman.” On the other hand, his scrapbooks are well populated with letters of thanks from those he praised in his “best-dressed” lists – the Duchess of Kent, J.
