What makes it even better is it cost me nothing but my time to make. The denim was given to me (I have denim coming out mf my ears), the zip was from my stash and the buttons are vintage glass buttons I had found at the thrift store sometime earlier this year. A stash busting garment always makes me smile :) I’d like to say I’m going to make more from this pattern but who knows when I’ll get around to that. On the right side of the front dress I topstitched the seam allowance on the band pieces. I did both the top and bottom attachment seam in one continuous stitch pivoting at the side seam.I then completed my back dress in the same way. Sewing the back waistband pieces to the bodice and skirt (except there was a dart in the back skirt pieces).
For the sleeve I put up my sample shirt to see the desired sleeve length and I made a mark on the pattern. I measured down from the underarm point to the mark and made another point along the other sleeve seam. I connected those points with a straight line and folded along this line. I used my tracing wheel and went over the sleeve seam to get the hem shape (
