Every sewing pattern is based off of a basic block. Companies have base blocks for each one of their sizes, and they use these to create all their new designs. But wouldn’t it be cool to have your own customized fitting blocks that fits you perfectly? These blocks can be developed from YOUR body measurements, which you can
presented as a bimonthly clothing diary, cataloguing ideas that are focused on a specific and fundamental characteristic of clothing design. Only one hundred copies of each issue will be printed and distributed to magazines and select stores. The approach is quite simple; you take on a basic idea or iconic fashion item, like a quilted Chanel bag, and recreate it using simple materials.
Now it was time to attached the neck and armhole bands! Before I could do so, I serged the shoulder seams of the dress together and measured the openings of the neckline and armholes. I took the measurements and subtracted approx. 2" (so the bands could stretch in) from each and cut the striped strips to the desired length. From there it was super easy to sew the bands in, you first sew the edges together and then fold the band wrong sides together and serge the opening edges together with the garment. I just love this type of edge finish.
