This week I started to sew my Vintage Flore Dress, I started with the bodice and then next week I’ll tackled that huge gathered skirt! Check out my steps in sewing the bodice to my mash up dress.Last week I just focussed on the pattern modifications, which you can see here. I had to cut a lining to back the fabric since it was sheer.
A ladylike style with a subtle red-hot touch. The peppy piping outlining the panels at the bodice and the contrast lacing draw attention, as well as the exaggerated ruffles at the neckline. The result is a modern twist on the dirndl. An especially sweet detail is the use of the alternating sizes of the rose print.
I love watching the garments coming together and seeing the finished creation. I also love that sewing your own garments gives you so much creative freedom, you can dress how you like and know that nobody else is going to be wearing what you’re wearing. I find the pattern cutting to be the worst part…i can be quite impatient and always want to get straight onto the sewing.
