My least favorite thing about sewing is pattern drafting. It’s very very technical and I don’t really enjoy it. It’s a vital part of the sewing process though, so I acknowledge that it’s an important skill to have. Cut and drape is really everything in clothes.On the other hand, my favorite thing about sewing is the moment I finish a garment and get to try it on. There really isn’t amore accomplished feeling.
Once I knew what size I was going to sew it was time to add the seam allowance. I like adding my own seam allowance to patterns since I like sewing with a 1/2" seam allowance. So I added 1/2" to all edges except the center front seam. The center back seam and yoke center back seam don’t need seam allowance either since they are to be cut on fold.

Sew the garment, following the instructions. It is possible to sew the yarn on an existing sewn garment, but it is much easier to sew to the pattern piece before construction the garment.
