Once my binding was serged into place I wrapped the other unsewn binding edge around the serging seam allowance and coverstitched down in place. If you don’t have a domestic coverstitch machine you can also use a zig zag stitch on your regular sewing machine.I finished the hem of my top with a coverstitch as well as the sleeve hems.
